Sun Protection
With the weather warming up, it's so important to protect yourself from harmful UVA/B rays. Skincare expert Susan Yara recommends using an SPF between 30-50 as anything higher than SPF 50 provides only slightly more protection. She notes that lotions are ideal for initial application as they're easier to apply evenly whereas sprays are fine for reapplication. Sun Bum lotions are incredibly lightweight and have a tropical scent that's much more enjoyable than the typical sunscreen odor. The Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Mist lives up to its name and dries almost immediately after application. It does have more of an odor, so it's better to apply it outside. Biore UV Aqua Rich is one of the best facial sunscreens on the market. It's a Japanese product, but can be purchased on Amazon. It has a gel consistency and soaks into the skin flawlessly. It isn't greasy in the slightest (non-greasy seems an understatement) and doesn't have an unpleasant odor. As with any sunscreen, it's important to reapply throughout the day to prevent burns.
Aloe Vera
Unfortunately, sunburns can occur even with proper sunscreen usage. Traditional aloe vera gels may reduce discomfort and can be purchased almost anywhere. They're typically sold in both lotions and gel formulas. Sun Bum After Sun Cool Down is an aloe based spray that also contains vitamin E and cucumber. It applies like a dry oil and soothes burning sensations almost immediately.
