That's why we've compiled a list of the necessary must-have EDC items. With this list, you'll always be prepared for whatever life throws your way.

Ready to learn about the everyday carry gadgets? Read on!

1. Item Tracker

The first thing you want is to have an item tracker on your everyday carry bag. The last thing you want to do is forget your bag at a restaurant, on an airplane, or somewhere else and not realize it until you're too far.

And once you do realize, you have no idea where you last left it - or if it was taken from you!

With an item tracker, you would easily be able to tell where your bag is to reduce your stress if you do lose it. And even if you don't ever plan on losing it, you have the peace of mind that you'll be able to find it worst-case scenario.

2. Pocket Knife

Pocket knives are a must, yet this is often overlooked by a lot of people. Having one of these in your bag is a must. A pocket knife is super practical when you ned to cut something, and can be a lifesaver in a critical situation, like cutting a seat belt or clothing or bandages.

A pocket knife can change a lot for you - and even if you never use it for safety, you at least know you have it there for protection in case of a worst-case scenario situation.

3. A Sturdy Wallet

In your bag, you will also want a sturdy wallet to carry your money and important cards like your credit card, debit card, or even an insurance card.

You want the wallet to be durable so that it lasts longer than a few times of pulling the card out and putting it back in (as this can wear down the wallet).

A wallet can also be helpful to keep everything in the same place so you don't misplace anything.

There are so many different types of wallets to choose from so be sure to do your research before you go to buy one!

4. Flashlight

This may seem a bit out of the ordinary, but having a flashlight with you at all times is important because it can help you do things at night. How many times have you tried to look through your bag but couldn't find anything because it was too dark? Probably a lot!

And if you had a flashlight, that wouldn't have been an issue.

5. Pen

You may have found yourself in the past asking your neighbor on a flight or the checkout woman at the store for a pen to jot something down really quickly so you don't forget. If you had a pen, you wouldn't have to ask!

The best part about adding a pen as an EDC item to your list is that it is so small it won't take up any space in your bag! But, you will get your use out of it.

We recommend a ballpoint pen so that if the cap comes off, the ink doesn't go everywhere!

6. Reusable Water Bottle

If you don't already have a water bottle as part of your everyday carry bag, it's something that you will want to add to your list right away!

There are so many benefits to using a reusable water bottle. Here are just a few:

  • They are environmentally friendly because they save from using more plastic and creating more plastic waste
  • You will save money because instead of buying water bottles, you can just fill yours up
  • You can show off your personality with your water bottle or what stickers you choose to put on it

Make sure your water bottle is not too big but not too small, either. A 16 or 18-oz water bottle is a great option.

7. Keys

Another thing you need to have in your bag is your keys! If you don't have that, you're going to have some trouble starting your car or getting into your house at the end of the day! Even if you aren't driving, it's best to get into the habit of putting your keys into your bag so you don't forget them when you do plan on driving.

8. Phone Charger

Nowadays, it seems that everyone is on their phone 24/7. In fact, the average person uses their phone for about 3 hours and 15 minutes per day. With so much time spent on phones, having a phone charger in your bag is a must.

This will ensure that your phone doesn't die so you can contact loved ones, get the work done that you need to do or have something to use when you're waiting for your dinner reservation.

Having a phone charger will ensure you have access to your phone when you want or need it.
